Potatoes are a little overcooked but for the most part it looks good.

Kinda weird, but I ate Guinea pig in Peru so who am I to judge.

    How’s it taste?

Of course someone who eats squirrel could manage to make even mashed potatoes look shitty.

Squirrel is good when done right. Was a treat when I went to visit family up in the mountains for Christmas. This doesn’t look half bad!

That looks like a Fricasseein’ squirrel ! 😎

I can tolerate squirrel if it’s done a certain way. Friends mom made it when we were kids just to freak us out and prove that’s how she grew up and that little effer was delicious.

We just had brazed squirrel n’ gravy for dinner last night this is ironic, bet it was a lil tough done that way but yummy.

Heck yes! I love squirrel, especially in dumplings. Or just squirrel cooked in a brown gravy.

My cat thinks squirrel is delicious. I have not taken him up on his offerings.

I heard squirrels are high in cholesterol.

Core memory from childhood – grandpa figure shot a squirrel, grandma figure fried it up and served it with toast and gravy. First and last time having squirrel! Not bc of taste. It was delicious and I will never forget and always crave that meal! So good! Grandpa figure said younger squirrels have better meat? Do with that what you will lol

Am I crazy or does this look delicious?

I used to eat squirrel all the time. They would fuck up my garden so I would shoot them, but I feel bad about taking life without using it, so I would make stew with them or eat them like this. Totally fine tasting meat.

Squirrel is a Southern US poverty food. When you couldn’t afford meat at the store, you went out in the woods with a shotgun and brought some back. Squirrels, rabbits, various birds. Squirrel is actually not bad, but it is very tough and stringy. Fried makes this even worse, but stewed or marinated and baked it’s quite palatable.

Fun fact, every year in Bentonville, AR there is the [World Champion Squirrel Cookoff](https://squirrelcookoff.com/), where restaurant chefs from all over the country come to showcase their creative squirrel dishes. I’ve been only once, but I had squirrel pizza, squirrel ravioli, squirrel and grits, and many other interesting dishes.

I’m sorry. What did I just see?

I’m looking at this thinking ‘where squirrel?’…

  21. Whenever I venture past the “norm” with meat, I look at their diet. Squirrels are mostly vegetarians and they aren’t farm raised. So no matter what it tastes like it’s about as healthy as you can get.

That’s a mighty fine dessert spread, right there……

Is there an apocalypse where you live?

Not going to lie, I would try it. I’ve never had squirrel. I don’t know if I would like it or not, but I’d at least try it and make a decision from there.
